PROF. BORIS D. TSYGANKOV, HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY, ADDICTION AND PSYCHOTHERAPY OF FACULTY OF ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION OF MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND DENTISTRY NAMED AFTER A.I. EVDOKIMOV, HAS JOINED THE SCIENTIFIC COMMITTE

Prof. Boris D. Tsygankov, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Addiction and Psychotherapy of Faculty of additional professional education of Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Honored Scientist of Russia Federation, Honored Doctor of Russian Federation, Presidium Member of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, Head Specialist Psychiatrist of Central Federal District of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, Chief Scientific Consultant of Medical Center of Administration of the President of Russian Federation, Member of Editorial Boards of 5 specialized forward psychiatry magazines, has joined the Scientific Committee of the Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the XXI Century.
 
 
The main directions of Prof. Tsygankov’s scientific research focus on the fundamental study of the clinical and pathogenic features of mental diseases at different ages, psychopharmacotherapy, psychiatric emergency for urgent patients and patients with the development of post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as development of strategy and methods of their treatment.
Prof. Tsygankov has published more than 490 works including 20 monographs, 7 manuals, 4 textbooks, 6 patents. He has supervised 15 doctoral and 52 master’s theses.
 
About the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov (MSUMD)
 
The main purpose of MSUMD has always been to train highly qualified medical professionals which, throughout its entire history, was greatly contributed by prominent Russian scientists who have brought world renown not only to the University but to the Russian medical science as well. A great part in setting up the University was played by outstanding Russian health care figures: N.A.  Semashko, P.G. Dauge, M.В. Yankovsky and A.I. Yevdokimov, who made it a point to put Dentistry on the curriculum of the medical school thereby creating opportunities for a truly scientific education of dentists and dental research m the country.
Professor O.O. Yanushevich, RF honoured dentist is Rector of MSUMD. Today he has over 50 scientific papers on topical periodontal problems to his credit.
The University President is Professor N.D. Yushchuk, a RAS and RAMS academician, RF Honored Scientist, government prize winner.
