PROF. BORIS D. TSYGANKOV, HEAD OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PSYCHIATRY, ADDICTION AND PSYCHOTHERAPY OF FACULTY OF ADDITIONAL PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION OF MOSCOW STATE UNIVERSITY OF MEDICINE AND DENTISTRY NAMED AFTER A.I. EVDOKIMOV, DELIVERS A REPORT AT THE CONGRESS

 
Prof. Boris D. Tsygankov, Head of the Department of Psychiatry, Addiction and Psychotherapy of Faculty of additional professional education of Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry named after A.I. Evdokimov, Honored Scientist of Russia Federation, Honored Doctor of Russian Federation, Presidium Member of the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, Head Specialist Psychiatrist of Central Federal District of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, gives a report on the subject: “Fundamentals of boundary gerontopsychiatry”.
The report will discusse the basics of a new direction in psychiatry – gerontological psychiatry. The object, methods of scientific direction, scientific and clinical approaches, and the most common mental illness in the aged people are discussed.
The main directions of Prof. Tsygankov’s scientific research focus on the fundamental study of the clinical and pathogenic features of mental diseases at different ages, psychopharmacotherapy, psychiatric emergency for urgent patients and patients with the development of post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as development of strategy and methods of their treatment.
 
Prof. Tsygankov has published more than 490 works including 20 monographs, 7 manuals, 4 textbooks, 6 patents. He has supervised 15 doctoral and 52 master’s theses.
