A MEMORANDUM BETWEEN THE MINISTRY OF LABOR AND SOCIAL AFFAIRS OF RUSSIA AND THE INTERNATIONAL SOCIAL SECURITY ASSOCIATION (ISSA) ON RUSSIA’S JOINING THE VISION ZERO CAMPAIGN WAS SIGNED IN MOSCOW

The 21st International Specialized Exhibition “Safety and Labor Protection – 2017” (Biot-2017) and the International Forum on Labor Protection was opened today in Moscow. The Secretary-General of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), the Member of the International Organizing Committee of the II Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the 21st Century Mr. Hans-Horst Konkolewski participated in the high-level opening events of the exhibition.
 
Within the framework of the event, the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation Maxim A. Topilin signed a memorandum between the Ministry and the International Social Security Association (ISSA) on Russia’s accession to the “Vision Zero” international compaign.

 

 
The exhibition will be held from 12 to 15 December 2017 in Moscow at the Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy (VDNKh). The organizers traditionally are: the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Association of Designers, Manufacturers and Suppliers of Personal Protective Equipment (ASIZ) and the All-Russian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (WOSOT). 
 

The business program of the Biot-2017 exhibition (www.biot.ru.com) presents more than 50 events: conferences and industry events, round tables, an open seminar by the Federal Service for Labour and Employment (Rostrud), a conference on a risk-based approach to supervision and many others.The Exhibition will be interesting for the representatives of foreign companies and organisations working in Russia, Russian companies directors and managers, safety specialists from federal and regional level authorities, labour protection centers, scientific-research institutions, trade union leaders, PPE supply services, as well as PPE end users. All categories of visitors will have an opportunity to know more about the current achievements of both, national and foreign manufacturers and suppliers of PPE .

 

 
Hans-Horst Konkolewsky, the II Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the XXI Century International Committee Member.
 
Hans-Horst Konkolewsky is the Secretary General of the International Social Security Association (ISSA). 

Elected in 2005, Mr Konkolewsky heads an extensive programme of activities focused on strengthening the governance, performance and service quality of social security administration, and including the production of international Guidelines, training and support services, research and development, and a calendar of international conferences and seminars in all world regions. The Secretary General has developed the ISSA’s strategy around the concept of Dynamic Social Security and excellence in social security administration, culminating in the launch of the ISSA Centre for Excellence in Social Security Administration, in 2013. Mr Konkolewsky pioneered the World Social Security Forum, the ISSA flagship event for social security policy-makers and professionals, which has met every three years since 2007.
Mr Konkolewsky manages the ISSA’s external relations with other international organizations involved with social protection and economic development, including the International Labour Organization, the World Bank Group, the OECD, the European Commission and the World Economic Forum.

Prior to his election as Secretary General, Mr Konkolewsky served for ten years as the Director of the European Agency for Safety and Health at Work, a tripartite European Union institution located in Bilbao, Spain. Under his leadership, the Agency became the major provider of safety and health information for workplaces and a key driver in promoting a prevention culture not only in Europe, but also worldwide. Mr Konkolewsky, who is a Danish national, also held several senior positions in the Danish Ministry of Employment and served as Deputy Director General of the Danish Working Environment Authority.
