VII National Congress on social psychiatry and narcology was held in Tyumen

VII National Congress on social psychiatry and narcology “Strategic directions of protection and strengthening of public mental health” was held in Tyumen. The Congress was organized by Serbsky National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Addiction in cooperation with Regional clinical psychiatric hospital of Tyumen region.
 
Experts from all over the country, as well as ones from the USA, China, France and Kazakhstan took part in the Congress.
 
The scientific program of the Congress included reports on mental health and prevention of disorders, mental health of children and adolescents, prevention and correction of addictions (chemical and non-chemical), prevention of autoaggressive behavior in the society, prospects of development of forensic psychiatry, the integration of psychology and psychiatry, professional education in psychiatry and improving mental health care in emergency situations.
 
“Our goal is the health, mental health of people. We are trying to hold congresses in the regions where they deal with these issues, eager and ready to show their work. We are in Tyumen, because your service can be a model for other regions. Although, of course, there are some issues that need to be discussed,” – said the chief psychiatrist of the country, the General Director of the Serbsky National Medical Research Center for Psychiatry and Addiction Zurab Kekelidze (quotation by www.tumen.kp.ru).
