“Dear Congress Participants!
I t is my great honour to be invited by the International organising committee for the Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the XXI Century as the president of the Asian Federation of Psychotherapy.
The Asian Federation of Psychotherapy (AFP) was formed under the auspices of the World Council of Psychotherapy. It has been holding psychotherapy congresses around Asia for every year for the past ten years, the last one being the 8th International Conference of the World Council for Psychotherapy Asia 2015 in Kuching, Malaysia (CounselingMalaysia.com) which was attended by over 300 participants from over 30 countries.
The mission of AFP is to facilitate the development of professional field of psychotherapy in Asia through the organisation of congresses, publications of journals and collaborations with practitioners and academicians in the field of psychotherapy and mental health.
Having led both these organisations and other institutions such as the International Psychology Centre (www.Psychology.com.my), the International Society for Psychotherapy, Counseling & Psychiatry; Research, & Clinical Practice (www.ISPCP-TRCP.org) in the development of psychotherapy and mental health, I am excited to join the international organising committee of the I World Congress on Mental Health to further develop mental health globally and look forward to meeting and collaborate with you all.

About the Malaysian Association of Psychotherapy (MAP)

The Malaysian Association of Psychotherapy (MAP) (MalaysianPsychotherapy.net) was formed in 2004 under the auspices of the Malaysian Home Ministry. It has been holding national and international psychotherapy congresses around Malaysia for the past fifteen years, including the International Asian Pacific Rim Counseling & Psychotherapy Conference (APRCPC) 2015 (www.MalaysianCounseling.com) and the 8th International Conference of the World Council for Psychotherapy Asia 2015 in Kuching, Malaysia (CounselingMalaysia.com) which was attended by over 300 participants from over 30 countries.
For the past 15 years, MAP has been able to achieve its mission to facilitate the development of professional field of psychotherapy in Malaysia through the organisation of national and international psychotherapy congresses, accrediting professional psychotherapy courses, supervising the professional practices of psychotherapy, publications of psychotherapy journals and collaborations with practitioners and academicians in the field of psychotherapy and mental health.
