Lecture of Dr. Stephen Shore “Accessible Environment. Museum for People with Autism”

Dr. Stephen Shore, one of the world’s leading experts in autism, will deliver a lecture within the World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.
The lecture is organized by the Institute of Russian Realist Art in collaboration with the Rehabilitation Center for Children with Autistic Spectrum Disorders “Our Sunny World” (non-government, non-profit organization) and the “Ferris Wheel” Project.
Dr. Stephen Shore, who has Asperger’s Syndrome, passed the way from a child diagnosed with autism to a university professor. He helps persons with autism and other conditions lead fulfilling and productive lives to their greatest potential.
During his lecture, Dr. Shore will talk about the world experience of adapting museums for people with autism, and general issues related to the employment of people with mental and other disabilities in museum institutions.
The lecture will help families who raise a child with an autistic spectrum disorder, adults with RAS, and museum specialists, deal with such children and better understand their perception of museum expositions.
