A STEP TOWARDS VOLUNTEERING. A MEETING OF THE AGENCY FOR STRATEGIC INITIATIVES

December 20, 2017 the Russian Agency for Strategic Initiatives (ASI) will host the final meeting for representatives of the Ural, Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts of Russia dedicated to volunteering support issues.
The meeting will be the fifth one in a series of events organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives with the participation of regional executive authorities and dedicated to support and development of volunteering in tthe Russian Federation. Although the previous events were held in the regions, it was decided to unite the experts in Moscow. The meeting will unite the experts that developed the Volunteer Support Standard for the regions and representatives of government bodies that are working on implementing  the Standard.
 
Among the participants on the behalf of the authorities of the Russian Federation are the heads of the executive bodies at the level of deputy chairmen of the regional government, heads of authorized ministries and departments.
 
The goal of the “Step to Volunteering” activities is the exchange of best practices in 9 key steps that form the basis of the Standard. Among them, information support and popularization of volunteering, grants and supsidy, conducting training programs and developing measures of encouraging new volunteers. 
 
The meeting consists of two parts: a panel discussion on “Best Practices for Supporting Volunteering” and a section on “Out-of-the-box Solutions for Systemic Management of Voluntary Resources”.
