THE NATIONAL AWARDS CEREMONY «HARMONY»

The Union for Mental Health of Russia has established the National Awards “Harmony” to honor excellence of professionals in mental health promotion & prevention of mental disorders, treatment & rehabilitation for mentally ill.
The National Awards Ceremony “Harmony” is a prestigious Russian national event where the most distinguished professionals from various fields, — including public health, psychiatry, psychotherapy, psychology, education & science, arts & culture, economics & politics, law & social welfare, sport, business, civil society, and the media receive official public recognition for significant contribution to mental health.
The National Awards Ceremony “Harmony” is held biannually on the World Mental Health Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness on mental health issues around the world and mobilizing efforts in support of mental health.
Russian and foreign professional associations&NGOs, state institutions in the fields of medicine, psychiatry, psychotherapy, social security, psychology, science & education, arts & culture, law & economics, media, and sports, and/or voluntary groups of mentally ill, including their relatives, and/or persons with mental disorders are invited to nominate one individual or one organization for the Award.
Two categories are considered for the National Awards “Harmony”:
Individual: The Award honors an individual for their exceptional contribution to mental health promotion & prevention of mental disorders, treatment & re-habilitation for mentally ill.
Organization: The Award honors an organization for their exceptional contribu-tion to mental health promotion & prevention of mental disorders, treatment & rehabilitation for mentally ill.
 
NOMINATIONS
  1. For Contribution to Mental Health Promotion & Prevention of Mental Disorders
  2. For Contribution to Mental Disorders Treatment
  3. For Contribution to Rehabilitation for Mentally Ill
  4. For Contribution to Science & Education in the Field of Mental Health

Prize of the «Harmony» award – a stylized crane-shaped brooch of 14-carat — a symbol of purity and commitment to continuous improvement. The brooch is made by special order with the use of world-class innovative technologies by masters of the ‘’Bronnitsy Jewelry Factory», one of the oldest companies creating masterpieces of jewelry for more than 90 years.

 
The National Awards Ceremony “Harmony” 2016 and the Opening Awards Ceremony Celebration Banquet was staged during the Congress on Mental Health: Meeting the Needs of the XXI Century in Moscow, Russia on October 7, 2016.
Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Gaebel, President of the European Psychiatric Association (EPA), was awarded for Distinguished Contribution to Global Mental Health.
