“We imagine a world where every woman and girl has access to quality and affordable health care.”
Dr WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus statement on International Women’s Day
“We’re speaking up for women’s and girls’ right to health. When women and girls are able to stay in school longer, plan or prevent pregnancies and access health services without discrimination, they can improve their economic opportunities, and ultimately transform their futures.
Although 70% of the health workforce is made up of women, this is often not reflected in leadership roles. It is important that more women join the ranks of health leadership where decisions are made about the health of women and girls.
We spoke to women in health across the world and asked them to share their experiences and stories about leadership, their work, and how they can inspire more women to join in and move up”.
