Message for Mental Health Gala Rahim Yar Khan

It makes me feel privileged and indeed it’s an honour for me to write this message for the forth coming wonderful scientific program at WPA Thematic Congress in Moscow, Russia.

Now more than ever, we all understand the importance of having a strong support system. 2020-21 has been rough years for everyone! But for some, the struggle has been far more difficult. One in six people experienced a mental health issue such as depression or anxiety this past week. Our friends, family members, and colleagues need our encouragement specially at workplace.

Reaching out to someone who is struggling with mental health or going through a hard time can feel awkward and that’s okay. Pushing past that barrier to let your loved one know you are there for them can make a big difference. A little support goes a long way! We must believe in science and data and in the present circumstances should move, share, and educate the friends and colleague to overcome the barriers in the management of mental health issues at workplace. Ensure a conducive and helpful environment.

Wishing you peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead and loving memories to forever hold in your heart. I just wanted to send you a little note saying how happy I am that this scientific event that brings friends, colleagues, and other partners together to learn and enjoy the beautiful city of Moscow.

All the best and see you all soon. Dr Nasar Khan, Member of the Organizing Committee (Pakistan).
