Prof. Jan Burns, Head of Eligibility for the International Federation for Para-athletes with Intellectual Disabilities (INAS), Professor of Clinical Psychology and head of the School of Psychology, Politics and Sociology at Canterbury Christ Church University, gives a report on the subject:”Sport for Athletes with an Intellectual Disability” under the Special Session “Adult Mental Health”.
 
About Prof. Jan Burns
 
Jan Burns is a Professor of Clinical Psychology and head of the School of Psychology, Politics and Sociology at Canterbury Christ Church University. Jan is Head of Eligibility for the International Federation for Para-athletes with Intellectual Disabilities (INAS) and worked with the International Paralympic Committee on the re-inclusion of athletes with intellectual disabilities in the Paralympics. Prof. Jan Burns is an active researcher and has published extensively in the fields of disability and clinical psychology. In 2015 she was awarded the Member of the British Empire medal by the Queen for her work with people with disabilities.
