THE RUSSIAN RESIDENTIAL CARE PSYCHONEUROLOGICAL INSTITUTIONS’ REFORM ISSUE BROUGHT UP AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL
Maria Ostrovskaya, the president of the St. Petersburg public charitable organization “Perspektivy”, submitted her proposals for the residential care psychoneurological institutions’ reform to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin at his visiting meeting with the representatives of the civil sector and social entrepreneurs in the Republic of Karelia, Russian Federation.
This issue will be further discussed by Maria Ostrovskaya at the panel session “Residential care psychoneurological institutions’ reform or life support for people with mental disorders” which will take place as a part of the official program of the “The Different Ones?” Festival of Mental Health Rehabilitation Programmes in Russia aimed at improving the health and quality of life of people suffering from mental disorders, through the development of a system of non-state rehabilitation services, as well as society-oriented psychiatric care and social welfare.
The festival will be held in St. Petersburg on October 13, 2017 within the framework of the International Health Forum dated to the World Mental Health Day.
The event is being organized by the Union for Mental Health in cooperation with the Russian Society of Psychiatrists, the All-Russian Association of Psychosocial Rehabilitation Centers, the World Club of Petersburgers, the All-Russian Professional Psychotherapeutic League and the St. Petersburg charitable organization “Perspektivy” with the support of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Russian Federation.
