MENTAL HEALTH MONTH IN RUSSIA

Traditionally, September and October are very busy with events devoted to the World Mental Health Day. Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO Director – General, said: “The World Mental Health Day is an occasion to join the efforts of the world community and start making up for the lack of attention to mental health issues. We are already noting the negative impact of the pandemic on the mental health of the population, and this situation is expected to only get worse. If we don’t make a serious commitment right now to increase the amount of resources allocated to mental health, this will have far-reaching consequences for health, society and the economy.”

The Union for Mental Health conducted a field study aimed at identifying mental health products and services that take place in real market conditions in Russia. The study period is September-October, due to the supposed high activity of national economy organizations and non-profit organizations engaged in the field of mental health, during this period.
The results of the study are presented in a brief of reference materials designed to promote cooperation and exchange of experience between all mental health entities that provide products and services in the mental health market in Russia: medical and non-medical organizations, scientific and educational institutions, non-profit organizations and patient communities.
