The 22nd World Congress of Social Psychiatry was a grand success

The 22nd World Congress of Social Psychiatry, New Delhi, Nov 30- Dec 4, 2016 was a grand success with 1,100 delegates from 50 countries participating. It offered rich scientific content with 15 Plenary Lectures, 75 symposia, 15 workshops, 18 free paper sessions, 10 posters sessions, other special sessions and a dedicated Young Psychiatrist Tract attended by 32 awardees from all over the world.
 
 
Prof.Tom Craig delivered the Presidential address and Prof. Julian Leff, the Yves Pelicier Prize Lecture. Prof. Norman Sartorius. Prof. Stephen Scott, Prof. Dinesh Bhugra, Prof. Vijoy K. Varma, Prof. Eliot Sorel, Prof. Vikram Patel, Prof. Helen Herrman, Prof. Mohan Isaac, Prof. Driss Moussaoui, Prof. Lawrence Kirmayer, Prof. José Miguel Caldas de Almeida, Prof. RS Murthy and Prof. Roy Kallivayalil delivered Plenary Lectures.
 
 
Justice Cyriac Joseph inaugurated the Congress and Dr. KK Aggarwal (President Elect IMA) was chief guest at the valedictory function. Cultural and musical evenings added to the traditional Indian hospitality. Hearty Congratulations to Rakesh Chadda (Chair), BS Chavan (Secretary), SK Khadelwal (President IASP) and their dedicated team for making this Congress an unforgettable one!
 
The WASP General Assembly elected the following new office bearers for 2016-19, who have assumed office on Dec 4th.
